In a press release today, the North Carolina Courage announced that rookie midfielder Clara Robbins was added to the team’s Season-Ending Injury list. Robbins’ addition to the list is retroactive to May 30, 2023.
As the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft, Robbins season injury was reported to be a left Achilles tear. The 24-year-old rookie was drafted out of Florida State University. In 2023, Robbins appeared in a trio of matches, with a single start (versus Orlando Pride on April 19, 2023), and 108 total minutes notched between league and UKG Challenge Cup matches.
Courage Roster Status
Robbins is the second Courage player added to the Season-Ending Injury list in 2023. Fellow midfielder Emily Gray, the third overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, suffered a torn ACL during the 2023 preseason. The active roster currently has 23 active players, including four on National Team replacement contracts, a pair on the season-ending injury list, and six on international duty for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
Robbins is under contract with the Courage through the 2025 season.
